They then joined the remaining nominees, together with a number of celebrities, in person and via recorded video messages,at Wembley for the Awards Ceremony, hosted by actress Amanda Holden.

The Spirit of Fire Awards are the UK Fire Services celebration of the achievements of Fire Service Personnel, and members of the public, for their bravery in the face of adversity, their fundraising achievements and their dedication to the Fire Service and their local communities.
In addition, it is a time for all attendees to remember those members of our community who have been lost throughout the year, together with their families and colleagues, and to celebrate their achievements.
“Tonight we will remember these lost members of our community and celebrate their achievements, alongside those of our illustrious nominees. The nominees gathered here tonight have been truly exceptional in their own fields and tonight it is a great honour for us to recognise their successes. We congratulate each one of them for their accomplishments and thank them for their commitment to our special community” Keith MacGillivray Chariman of the Fire Fighters Charity.

The Colchester Fireswim is a 24 hour continuous marathon swim, and has raised over £210,000 for the Charity. The station combines this fundraising with up to 2,500 shouts a year and is a big supporter of the local Duke of Edinburgh scheme.” Spirit of Fire Nomination Information
